Booking Information

Everything you need to know before you book and visit The Flight Experience, our flight simulator centre in Newcastle upon Tyne.

How booking works

1. Get your voucher. Buy an experience from our Our Experiences page. E-vouchers arrive by email straight away.
2. Book your session. Use the Schedule Your Visit link to pick a date and time. Choose the Boeing 737 or Airbus A320 when you book your session, and make sure the simulator and session length match your voucher.
3. Weekday vouchers can only be used Monday to Friday, so please pick a weekday slot.
4. We work by appointment only, but we can often book sessions with as little as one hour's notice.

If a booking doesn't match the voucher (wrong simulator, length or day type), the session can't go ahead on the day.

Voucher information

Vouchers bought directly from us are valid for 24 months from the date of purchase. Your session needs to be booked by the expiry date, and the session itself can be after it. Need more time? Vouchers can be extended for a fee on request: email hello@theflightexperience.co.uk, ideally before your voucher expires.

Junior Captain vouchers (ages 5–14) are for a 30-minute session in our Boeing 737 or Airbus A320 simulator. Choose which simulator when you book your session via the Schedule Your Visit link. Weekday vouchers can be used Monday to Friday only.

Vouchers bought from a partner (such as Groupon, Wowcher or Buyagift): please check with them about validity and extensions. Our rebooking fees and no-show rule apply to all sessions booked with us.

Moving or cancelling a session

You can move or cancel your session free of charge up to 24 hours before it starts, using the link in your booking confirmation email (or email hello@theflightexperience.co.uk). With less than 24 hours' notice, or if you can't make it on the day, a rebooking fee applies: £25, £50 for the Airline Pilot Ultimate Experience, or £75 per half day for Group Bookings. On the day

• Finding us: Unit 26 Invincible Drive, Armstrong Industrial Park, Newcastle upon Tyne NE4 7HX, a short distance from Newcastle Central Station. There's on-site parking, and public transport is available.
• When you arrive, please report to our check-in area. If your instructor is finishing another session, help yourself to a drink and take a seat.
• Bringing someone? Family and friends are welcome to come and watch. Only one person flies per voucher.
• Under 14s must be accompanied by an adult.
• Seat size: the flight decks are tight spaces, so you should be able to sit comfortably in a car seat. The A320 seat has a weight limit of 120kg.
• No experience needed. Our instructors cater for complete beginners through to qualified pilots.

Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday: 9am – 5pm
Saturday: 9am – 5pm
Sunday: 10am – 5pm
Visits are by appointment only.
